well I am thinking about doing this shop, and I was wondering if anyone else have done this setup? Ii'm not too sure about what I need, but I was thinking about getting a motorset that comes with a tranny and just swapping everything out.

if there is someone who has done this in the past can you let me know what parts you have to source... I've seen the write-ups for the regular 5 speed conv. but I haven't seen anything for this case.

j9fd3s is doing that right now. But hes also using a maita gear set instead of the stock one. Some custom fab is needed.

its not hard, the motor will drop right in, the tranny however you will need a custom trans mount i wanna say or was it just the convertables that needed the custom trans mounts. anyways just get a pedel set, ecu and wiring harness , drop the motor , trans in as well as a t2 drive shaft, diff and axels and away you go. plan on 10k spent or more.

I've done it.

You will need :

Obviously engine and tranny...

S5 TII ECU

S5 TII AFM

S5 TII Boost sensor

Pedal assembly

Clutch master cylinder & hose

Wiring harness is not really necessary, you could just add some wires (see the wiring diagram for reference on that as I won't elaborate).

Custom made transmission bracket, the auto mounting point is 2-3 inches closer to the firewall than the 5 speed (on a S4 but i'm pretty sure the S5 is the same).

If you plan on keeping the stock N/A diff, a custom driveshaft or a spacer as your Auto driveshaft splines will fit in the TII tranny but it will be too short.

I suggest you to get the TII diff & axxels but a S4 GXL one would do the trick as long as you keep the power level close to stock. Having an open diff in a TII is not really "fun"
