Okay somebody told me, or I read... But can't find it now. So here is the question:

Putting RX8 Plugs into a Rx7 is a nice performance increase. True?

And they fit. I know they are expensive and are a surface gap, vs the electrodes on the Rx7 plugs

vs.

I run RX8 plugs in my FC, I think they do give a little performance.

oh yeah. and there no trailing and leading since they arnt made for rx7's. so you just run the same B9ES all around. and they are only 2 bucks a piece!

but i am curious about the rx8 plugs. I know Mazda had a recall because there original plugs were messing up. or something like that...

tere was not a recall due to plugs, there was an update for the rx8s due to flooding and mazda switched the heat range of the plugs. rx8 plugs are around 125 to 200 bucks a set depending on wich dealer you get them from. there is no performance gain and they do foul out faster in a standard perifrial exhaust port motor. if you are going turbo on low boost just run the standard 9s wich is the trailing plug all the way around and if you are going over 15psi run 10.5 plugs or the jetski plugs. i used to burn out the standard 9s in about 10 miles in my car and have since switched to HKS plugs and have had 6000 trubble free miles so far.

the reach is also different for the trailing plugs, so only the leadings work.

the leading rx8 plugs do seem to work better at low speed low load than the "normal" plugs. engine seems smoother

although the current FC didnt really like them, it made me pull some fuel out

on s5 and s6 rotor housings the trailing and leading rx-8 plugs fit just fine, but i used 2 aluminum oil pan drain plug washers per plug on the trailing to pull back the plug slightly
