Rx7 Gt-r
GTR is the designation for the top of the line Nissan Skyline, with the RB26DETT, Attesa AWD, and virtual unobtainability within the USA. Also, at least around Tulsa, it is designation of the top models of hyundai excel, the 1984 honda accord, and the Lebaron... they say stickers alone are good for at least 50HP. The NOS sticker adds yet more power...

In Japan (possibly Aus too) FC's had GT-R's and GT-X's. Some people will say that GT-R designates 86-88...which is wrong.
S5/S4 T2's can be GT-R or GT-X. These names refer to the options that were on each car. They were only minimal things like side skirts, lips, wings, seats, steering wheel, etc.
So for instance...a 1990 FC3S GTR may have no side-skirts, the steering wheel off an 89-91 GXL, and 15' wheels.
While a 1990 FC3S GTX may have the side skirts, rear wing, front lip, and 16's.
Not sure if that answers your quesions...but elsewhere outside the US there are GTR and GTX FC's.
