Im thinking of undercoating my 7. not because I plan on running it in the snow or junk weather. but because under the chassis there are areas of rust. I want to prevent the rust from ruining the vehicle. I understand that I have to clean up the areas before just spraying them. Has anyone done this or have a different answer for fixing a rust problem. I wish I had pics but don't right now. when car comes back from shop I'll definately take pics of car.

Just follow the instructions on the can of which ever product you wish to use, remove mil scale/surface rust, treat with your preferred rust inhibitive product, then finish/undercoat/whatever.

buy an angle grinder. A wire wheel for it. A face sheild. Breathing mask. Thick pair of gloves.
