Running Too Rich on Gas...

Yea yea, im a newb. But i was wondering...
Every time i run my car it smokes in moderation. Sometimes alot sometimes only little... i was wondering if too much gas getting in and not being fully combusted could be the culprit... Symptoms...
Okay first obviously, smoking.
Doesnt smell like its oil or coolant, it smells like gas.
Misfires not excessively but once in a while.
I wasnt able to check my ignition system or my spark plugs, i didnt have a wrench the right size for my plugs.
Fluid is leaking out of my exhaust after about 1 minute of sitting at idle.
She idles around 1500rpm =(
Im also suspecting bad gas. The car sat for a while before i bought it and i havent been able to run all the fuel through, though i did add fuel to it. There was roughly 2 to 3 gallons of gas in the tank, and i added more to about half a tank. The car sat roughly 3 or 4 months i cant be too sure on the exact time. So yea, im not ruling out oil or coolant, but im just checking on the bad gas/bad combustion theory. Anyone have any other theories? Things i should look at? If you have questions which could help you, or others help me out, please let me know.

the fluid coming out the tail pipes is prosibly condensation, wich is normal and nothing to worrie about. the smell is some what normal aswell with old fuel and the smoke, is it only on start up or is it all the time. rotarys smoke alot on start up due to the nature of the motor. but i would do a tune up with some good ngk plugs and fuel filter and air filter and so on.

The Smoke is like all the time, though it lessens after a few minutes, it still smokes. Today i started the car and let it warm while i cleaned the snow off to move it out back, after about a minute it stalled out and wouldnt start back up... im pretty pissed =( Hope its just flooded ;P

its not a good idea to have a 7 without learnign about them a little..
it really can be alot of things, s4's (86-88) had a problem with the injectors sticking open, causes flooding, hard as hell to start... what color is the smoke? and do you have any mods? this will help to tell what the problems could be...

Not at all ;P But in my own defense i learned alot about them, just that this s*** popped up, and i cant figure it out. The smoke it a white/grayish but doesnt smell like coolant or gas.
As for mods, no, bone stock. Tomorrow im taking out the plugs/replacing them and checking my ignitions system.
Today it stalled and wouldnt start back up as i mentioned before, we tried pulling the fuse for the injectors so they wouldnt inject fuel and turning it over, to clear flooded gas, 3 or 4 times for 10 seconds each. Then replaced the fuse... no luck when we tried afterwards. While i have the plugs out im first obviously going to check the plugs for deposits/cleanliness, then i will be checking compression, and also im gonna go through the ignition system in general. ill let you guys know if anything pops up.

The plugs are your best clue.
They are right in there where combustion is not happening.
Just pull the leading (bottom) plugs.
Also, if you are flooded, the fuel usually washes out the oil needed to make start up compression. Then the engine cranks faster with almost no compression surges in the starter gear noise.

My exact reasoning for pulling the plugs initially, secondly, was to check the ignitions system, as i havent done that since november when i bought my 7.

Well, changed the plugs, and she started right up no problem. I didnt get a chance to check compression, since im poor and cant afford a compression gauge, and i didnt have an assistant around for the poor mans compression test. But the ingitions system looks fine, im gonna look around for vac leaks and see if i can find anything. The plugs werent terribly black, but they werent clean either, they looked about right to me for the time they were in, just werent sparkin enough to get the engine runnin i guess. As for the smoking, its still goin, cant tell what it is, if it was oil burning wouldnt the spark plugs have been CAKED with black soot? i didnt really see any, just the normal deposits of combustion.
