I'm amazed that the stuff isn't insanely pricey. But I think I remember reading that Idemitsu just recently broke into the US market so perhaps they're just trying to gt everyone hooked before they jack up the prices... Found it for 7.50 a quart in town, which beats the hell out of 12 dollars for a quart of royal purple. Since I just flooded my engine, and had to leave it a few days, I'm gonna need to change the oil so I'll pick some up and let you guys know if it's worth it.

Oh and for tranny fluid, Redline all the way. Very good stuff.

REVS - Rotary Engined Vehicle Specialists. Although it is here in Adelaide, South Australia so I doubt anyone would have heard of it. It's not exactly local for most of you who live in the states lol

So I go back to the place with Idemitsu...guy who owns is says he's sold out. He says it's gonna be a bit until he gets more, and the price is higher now that the Canadian dollar is less. Soooo I guess I'm getting some other stuff. Plus I just don't want to deal with that guy since he's a dick. Maybe when I get some real cash and need to change the oil again, I'll get a case of Idemitsu, but for now the usual will have to do.

I thought that we were supposed to use ONLY real rotted dinosaur in rotarys

...something to do with the seals (apex) not sealing properly with synthetics...

Obviously you guys are having favorable results with synthetics; care to elaborate?

to make this short, synthetic is better on things like the bearings but it doesnt burn, so it can do weird things in the combustion chamber, deposits etc

also some synthetics are NOT compatible with the rotor oil seal o ring material.

if you have a non turbo street car, you dont really need synthetic, especially not at $12 a quart!
