hey everyone well i am getting out drag raceing and getting into road course raceing. i am going to go with a stock 13-bt for it and run stock boost and have sport KYB struts on. the only thing i need to know is what are the best and seconded to best Adjustable Coilovers and same for sway bars. can i get some links would be most great full b/c i am looking to see how much everything is going to cost so i can see how long it is going to be before i get on the track

we run dynamic suspention on ower ITS rx7 with out the resivors and now have revalved them and are using the resivors runnin in EP. they are very expencive but might i sugest some KONI YELLOWS and ground control springs. we also do not run a rear bar and run a speedway frount bar. the cars corner speed is extreamly fast this way. and for tires you can run almost an entire season on TOYO RA-1s shaved to 4-32" , we used them for a wet tire and track days and some endurance stuff, there a great tire. also we run hosier R6s and kumho 710 the hoosiers a just a tick faster but dont last as long. anyways im more then willin to help ya out if you ever see me at a track. randy

yeah i have the koni yellows on my 944 and when i drove it on the road course for the first time it was more fun i found then drag racing. but i could not find no koni's for my car. i want to get some good supention first so i will not have spend more money on up gradeing lata. but ia m going to racing in a lower class till i get new tires but i am useing sumotumos (i think thats how u spell it) right now on my 944 and there are very nice and for a good price but nothing like a hoosier tire would. i might be racing in the local races till i get the car the way i want it intill i start in the SCCA. pluse i ahve to beat my friends 944 that he is building up right now. but yeah all advise is most welcome. do u know where i can get a roll cage to put in?

koni yellows are what you want, racing beat sells em.

spring rates depend a little, 450F 250R is a good start

rear sway bar either should be stock or removed, bigger sway bar just makes it act like a solid rear axle....

front can use a bigger bar

poly bushings everywhere help

after that its all setup...

engine gets a header, and an ecu, NASA lets you run a lighter flywheel, should be in the 170hp range

but dont hesitate to drive it before its "done"

SCCA now allows the use of stand alone ecus in ITS , alot of people where taking motecs and runing them inside a stock ecu and stock harness but that has now changed, no more cheating when not needed lol. anyways on a stock port 13b the best i have seen was 187hp and alot of 180 to 184hp with a proper tune on 87 octain non ported motor, none cheater motor even. add that with a 5.13 ring and pinion on short tracks and 4.88 on big tracks your buddy with his 944 doesnt stand a chance in hell. also might i sugest hawk blues in frount and blacks in back with a good bias adjuster .

We make koni coilovers for the FC...

fc3sboy1 05-14-2008 11:52 PM

as for a roll cage , the autopower cage is leagle for ITS and some other classes, there inexpencive to a full weld in cage and a good place to start and cansult the SCCA GCR ( general competion rule ) book for the clarifcation on what you can and cannot do to your car and build from there. its not fun showing up to the first race having been busting your ass building a car just to have your anual tech inspection and the inspector says this car is not leagle or even worse this car is not fit to be on track.

yeah i have seen it happen to some guys that my friend know in the PCA and he was pissed. Yeah i am going to look at the rule book and start makeing my list of parts i am going to need and see how everthing is going to cost me. which i am looking to spend a lot and get everything right. i would use the motor that i have in but i do not think it would hold up to 30mins of a beating.( 13-b n/a weber 45 full race port, raceing beat header, dual stright pipes all the way back to two raceing beat mufflers.) yeah i am deffently going to buy the koni yellows b/c i know how they are and like them very much. any suggestion on rims. i have the 15" BBS wheels from the verts. but i was thinking about geting some wider rims for the back and haveing to put a spacer is this a good idea for my FC or should i stay with the BBS.
