If you go with a dry sump oil system like I am, you can drop that sucker all the way down. What kind of racing are you doing? If your racing, you should think about the Moroso oil pan or go dry sump. Anything with more oil capacity. It will help.

Autocross only. The cost of a dry sump system is not really worth it IMO for the amount of time I'll be in the car... If I were road racing, maybe.

With a new front crossmember, it wouldn't have to move back very far before there was nothing in the way. Then the only thing keeping you from dropping it WAY down is ground clearance for the oil pan... And like I said, since it's only autocross, there isn't too much to hit. If I'm center punching cones, I deserve to have the oil pan damaged. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Do you think you'll have enough room on the upper backside(top of it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif ) of the tranny to this?

Travis R 04-08-2004 03:24 PM

I'm most likely making a fully custom intake, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I was also thinking that it might be difficult to remove the tranny once it's been relocated, for something like a clutch swap. I guess I would have to leave enough room to slide the tranny back, or just pull the whole thing (eng/tranny) and swap it out side of the car. Which probably would be that hard. How often am I going to have to swap the clutch? They should last many years of autocross only duty.
