Redline buzzer is driving me nuts, and I'm ready to get rid of it? Ideas?

yeah but if im not mistaken that is also your low oil warning too? its under your steering wheel/dashboard

You can adjust when it goes off by tweaking the circuit, on the 1st gens i believe it's on the tachometer itself and you just change a resistor... you could change it to buzz way higher than it does now.

I personally like it, it's more useful than the shift-up light https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

I've removed it on both of my cars. It is on the circuit board behind the gauge cluster. All you have to do use a pair of dikes to clip it off the board.

A responsible rotary owner does not use that as a "fill oil" warning. They put a dipstick on the engine to check the oil level.

It's still useful for when your car magically sprouts a big leak on a trip or decides to start consuming more oil than before.

I had the alarm go off once on the highway and I had just checked the oil level at a gas station half a tank before, it was burning alot of oil at this time though.. the oil control rings were toast. I was able to pull over and add more oil before it went empty thanks to that buzzer https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Alright, thanks. I'm about to port my engine and I'm going to be going over redline so I don't want that damn thing going off every 5 seconds.

You could just not go to the redline.. lol. Who the hell am I kidding.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png No one has that much will power.. :yum:

rx7machine 01-19-2003 02:45 PM

well.. at least I don't.. :smirk:

In my vert, I pulled the buzzer because it was ******* up, it would just start going off, and not stop. It had nothing to do with rpm, or fluid level. Also, if the oil drops below a certian point the oil light comes on on the idiot light cluster.
