Unhappy

Hey my car got stranded in Long Island on mothers day due to a faulty heater hose. So i went today and put the new heater hose....( which i assumed was the problem and i was right hurray ). SO i put the new hose and fill up the car with new antifreeze. the car wasnt sucking enough antifreeeze. So i put the heat on all the way and took off the radiator cap and kept refiling it. Well i got home the car didnt over heat but stayed at the half way mark.

Question. When i was driving home the "add coolant" Light went off, but on local roads where i drive slower then the light goes back on , so now there is a beeping noise inside the car but i think its from like the seatbelt like when its not on. SO why isnt my car taking in more antifreeze , or is the coolant sensor on top of the radiator loose.?? whts the deal

thanks jason

beeping noise might be the power steering fluid is low.

The low coolant also makes a LOUD beep.

You guys did the belts, have you checked if all the belts are

tight? Your belts might have loosened up, hence the reason for the

power steering alarm to be going off, and the reason your car isnt getting

enough cooling from the fan at low speeds.

You car was getting cooled from air flow on the highway.

That is what i suspected when he called me, but the beeping sound is really, really low. I could hear it over his phone, but barely. I didn't know that there is a power steering level buzzer, always nice to know

I'd guess that you need to bleed the radiator, and don't forget to top off the overflow bottle. So the buzzing that you hear, is it alot quieter than the redline buzzer?
