How hard is it to crack open an engine and replace all of the seals? I'd like to try my hand at a rebuild, but since the engine runs great now, I'd hate to screw up a rebuild and have to buy another one. Also, how hard is it to do a mild port job? I know templates are available, but should I leave the porting to the pros? Obviously, I'm not looking for 400+ hp, just a little more airflow.

i tore down my TII engine in about 5 hours. i would let somebody port the housings just so you don't risk damaging a good housing. its not that hard but it does take alot of time to rebuild. i would probably wait till winter to tear it down https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

That's what I was thinking. How much would a port job cost if I sent the housings out, assuming they're in good enough condition?

usually $300. how far away is pineapple from you ?
|
ATKINS rotary told me $150 for a street port,,,and $300 for a bridge

All I'd want is a street port...I don't want to have to use different apex seals...well, maybe I should upgrade them.
