Rear end fitment
I have found from a guy a rear end from a 1988 convertable rx-7. He hasn't told me if it is an auto or manual transmission. I am wondering if it will fit properly without any custom parts on my 87 coupe? Both rear ends are n/a. I know that the t2 and n/a rear ends are different sizes but are the convertable rear ends different from the coupes? Thanks.

Same, go for it.... the only thing that changed in NA rears from the different models was the final drive ratio... the actual fitment is fine.
That only applies to the automatic trans. All manual transmission FC's are 4.1:1 ring and pinion, while all auto coupes are 3.9:1, and auto verts are 4.1:1.
The rear end is directly interchangable, nothing to worrk about. Its a straight swap.
