as summer is coming and i will be getting a fulltime job or two, i was wondering what i could do to beef up my 91 na?

it seems that most modifications work ok with na's but work even better with boost. :out:

are there any good na power mods (not just intake and exhaust that is a given)? could i build my na and then turbo or supercharge it down the road? am i destined to search for a turbo II parts car? :eh: :whatsthat:

does anybody have any ideas?

You can port you engine, under-drive pulleys, change your final drive gear ratio to a 4.3, reduce your cars weight, as you said supercharge it, ect...

What mods have you done to your car so far?

Nitrous works about the same on NA's and Turbo's. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

oh yeah, forgot about that.

N/A rox.

you can cheat and get some better speed and mileage by putting a good body kit on, like the front and rear bumper wind deflector thingies. i heard they in effectively 5 hp or so.

uh. yea. and flywheel, get a lighter one. again, not REAL hp increase, your engine still produces same, but just get more poewr to the wheels, so its effectively an increase. =)

IM A FNG DONT BELIEVE ME!

real n/a power is called a peripheral port 13b. that along with a good set of headers and ignition and intake mods and your looking at a really fast n/a

now ad turbo and your looking at a wicked fast car

if he were to do a p port, look into spending a lot of money. Id just go with a mild street port and still be able to eat up all those hondas and toyotas. you do a p port that strictly a track car.

lets see... new thermostat, MAP sensor, engine... panasonic head unit with some alpine 6.5" in the rear.

as you can see not much. i had to get the engine relaced when i got it so for cheapness i got a guy to put in a new one. but now i want more power,

my list of plans for the summer are:

a corksport dual exhaust (no they don't make one - but if a bunch of us ask nicely...)

bonez K&N adapter

bonez highflow cat

etc...

is a p port the one done in the rotor housing (like an exhaust port)

as for street porting do i need to get TII rotor housings?

the thing about my engine is its used and tends to smoke at high rpms (ATF trick coming in one week when finals are over)

i was thinking about do a rebuild with different parts from different models (TII rotor housings,N/A sidhousings, ?FD intake manifold?) but i want to not spend too much money this summer so i need to prioritize.

my engine will last as long as i don't push it too hard (or so the ******* mechanic said AFTER he put it in and told me no warranty)

so i figure boltons and whatnot .

as for supercharging or turbocharging which is better. i know that turbos experience lag due to spool up time and i think they would have a shorter lifespan than a supercharge due to all that heat. but ive heard that turbos can make alot more power? could i build an N/A and boost it with the N/A rotors and all?

as for the nitrous im prolly going to get that after i get my engine the way i want it.

oh and did i mention that this will be a daily driver.

(whew long post) :thumbs-up:

a Peripheral port is where you actually add an extra hole in the rotor housing for more air. it requires custom intake manifolds. its a ton of custom work but those produce ALOT of power https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
