Any of you guys realize that you can buy this bumper from RE Amemiya for $1000-$1100 with yen conversion, and you get lights, and bumper, and its the genuine article, just pay a tad more for shipping.

Rotary Extreme, since theyre so cheap, maybe you could have the real one with HIDs for like $200 extra, wouldn't sell as many copies but would still sell them.

so its okay to buy a $1800 bumper but not to buy a headlight duct. They both serve the same purpose for lookz. It looks off the meat rack though
For a slow car I think its cheesy to put any kit on the car.

For a turbo car or a warmed over N/A its the icing on the cake.

There are certain mods a slow car can get away with.

Your conversion is so wrong. The bumper is listed for 148,000 yen. right now the exchange rate is about 115 yen to 1 dollar. So the bumper will be $1287. When you buy any parts from Japan, they charge sales tax even for exporting so that brings it up to $1351. And that does not include shipping yet. RE does offer 10% off to thier RE Amemiya car club so without shipping it's still $1251. Too bad you can't join because you are in America. Shipping is going to run you at least $250 by ocean freight. If you got jacked, it can be up to $500. The rest is simple math so you can add things up and see how much it is.

Besides that, the lighting on the original FC2002 bumper sucks.

I can sell you the original too if you want. I promote either one. It's only money we are talking about. =)

I don't have a pic of the RE Amemiya 3rd gen headlight kit. I got rid of that long time ago. But I do have my HID light kit photos:

I have more photos on my website. http://www.rotaryextreme.com/sleeklight.html

Check them out. I even have some video of it

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/hid

Do a search on the forum and ask them about the 3rd gen RE sleek light kit.

Let me tell you why it sucks:

1. It's a spot light. There is no cut off point. You have to aim the light down so you don't blind the on coming traffic. And when you aim it down, you don't see anything.

2. It's penciel beam, means you don't have any peripheral lighting

Why the German Hella is better:

1. The low beam is a projector, same technology as the BMW projector lights and Audi projector lights. The BMW lights are made by Hella. The HID on Lexus is not as bright because it's not a projector style.

2. Very sharp cut off point. You will not blind the on coming traffic. You can even aim it straight.

3. Wider spread. Refer to the pictures on the website.

Here is another picture of the HID. Just one!. I was holding it on my hand and powered by a battery jumper

Some people on the forum already have the original bumper. They can comment on the lighting. If you have the original bumper and you want better lighting, I will offer you the HID upgrade for $900. The HID upgrade I am talking about is not just the bulbs and ballasts. It will come with the low beam projector HID hella lights, high beam hella lights, brackets to make it a bolt on replacement on the original bumper. Even if you upgrade them to regular halogen Hella, they are still much better than the IPF. If you just want to upgrade them to regular halogen hella, that will be $400 and it will come with lights, brackets, and all the other hardware for a bolt on installation.

Chuck, you couldnt be more wrong. The lighting is amazing good. Its a nice sharp, wide pattern. Incredibly bright. If you align the headlights properly, its not only very bright, but damn sexy on the road. Looks like a FIA GT car. Serious, the lights they use are NOT like the FD kit at all. Quite the opposite. A light upgrade is not neccessary.
