This old man down the road from me bought some R12a to put in

his R12 Airconditioning system, The guy at the auto parts store told

him that all you have to do is screw on thiese Qwick connect adaptors

and the put it in, (you dont have to evacuated the system or anything,

it just mixes with the existing R12. ) we gave it a try, everything

seams fine so far, Air is really cold,

However it just doesn't seam, like it should be that simple to me?

Has anyone here used this? If so what was the outcome?









P.s. How long do i have to be a F.N.G ?

Mechanic told me to do it right a 134 conversion that is, you have to evacuate it, put some conversion ****, some new oil, then charge it, he charges people $160 to do the all shabang<~~~ edit, I didnt even REALIZE you were talking about Freon. Where and how much did the **** cost you anyhow? Yes, thats how you charge a A/c system.

Hey I just noticed you're in Newman CA. I'm in Modesto.



I used a 134 kit that had the oil that is comaptable with r12 oil and some stop leak in the can with the 134. I didn't have any freon left in mine so I put it in without having it evacuated. I couldn't afford to pay a shop so I didn't have anything to lose by trying it. It seems to work ok though I don't think 134 gets as cold as r12.
