I wanted to buy an 02 sensor before I go AutoX this weekend since lord knows when the last time it was changed out was and I was wondering if there is any big difference between the generic Bosch one between the NGK and Denso oxygen sensors. The later two I would have to order and they are 30 and 100 bucks more respectfully. Thanks for any input.

 

In my opinion---NO! The stock one has the advantage of saving you two minutes by having the correct plug on the end of the wire. I don't think it's worth it. Get the cheap one.

 

Bosch makes one that has the correct plug on the end and there is no need to rewire.

id get the ngk or denso if you didnt have to wait, but oh well its not like this is an expensive part

There really is NOT a difference. I have used the Bosch ones in my car ever since my first switch with no problems. Now I've got a Bosch LSU4 in my TechEdge wideband.

the bosch ones dont seem to last quite as long, but its a $20 part its not a big deal if its lasts 3years or 4 you know?

 

So strictly a matter of longevity, then. Yah. Very good.

 

How do you know it needs to be replaced? Just wondering, Ive never even thought of changing mine... Maybe its time? What kinda stuff do you look for to indicate a needed change?
