neither one will work easily. the 87 ecu will plug into the engine harness from the motor, but it doesnt plug in under the dash of the car. the 89 ecu is the other way around

he should go with the haltech? if he is swapping an na s5 motor for an s4 turbo motor and not upgrading the turbo or doing other power mods it wont be worth the time and money spent bc the power gains would not be that significant

i dunno steve put an haltech on his gtut2 swap (he ran it into a fence too, we only ruin rare cars here) and we'll see if theres a power gain to be had

with an s4 motor? there should be pretty good power gains, at least thats what i would expect. not that i have hands on experience with a haltech or anything, just going by what ive heard.

well im not sure if hes going to be doing anything else to the car, it is a shame ruining the rare car part but, it was his money he spent not mine, but he might do little mods, down the road like down pipe, intake, little things i dont think hes goning to upgrade the turbo

im very confused. the gxl is probably the least rare model, and the tii was the only model that came with tii. it wasnt like an add on, it is the model/trim level
