Maybe a dumb question but...



How can you test the skidpad? Are there palces that do it for you at race tracks or whatever? I know you drive in a circle right? Do they have a g-meter in the car?



Is it something you can test on your own in an empty parking lot?

You don't need a gtech pro to figure it out. All you need to know is the speed you are going (needs to be fairly constant so accelerate slowly) and the radius of the circle you are driving in. Lateral acceleration is just the (v^2/r)/32.2 where v is the velocity you are traveling at in feet per second and r is the radius of the circle in feet. That equation should be right.

That is a good formula for an estimate especially if you are using your own car's speedometer for the velocity and such. How many cars when their speedometer says 60 are really doing exactly 60?

i used the accelerometer from my high school. we used a ti83 calculator to store the data, then transferred it to the computer, we used the school parking lot.



it improoved by about .1 to .09 g with the addition of the falkens!!!
