was up https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif quick question everyone, ive never pulled my engine but i am very soon, i have pulled my tranny to install a new clutch and various other pieces, my question is can the tranny and engine be pulled while they are both bolted together, im thinking yes but like ive said i have never pulled both together on a RX7. Just drain all fluids, disconnect driveshaft, wires, hoses, mounts, remove the hood, bash the knuckles a few times, and swear a little if im not mistaken..LOL https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif later

you can do it. if you want you can even pull the wiring harness from the firewall and you don't have to take apart the engine until its out of the car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

sweet, that a plus, now whos got a good used engine for me ? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

vosko 03-15-2003 03:18 PM

don't get a used engine. you are just rolling the dice of fate lol

Rotaryman88 03-15-2003 03:20 PM

Used engines are bad mmmkay....

and yea...pulling the tranny and motor out together I find makes it easier when putting it back in. getting the motor to lineup w/ the tranny while the tranny is still in the car is a bitch...

get a good rebuilt motor...or rebuild it yourself...safest bet.

Nice picture looks like fun. But why is the engine bay black?

better product, and less expensive than Guards red. Duponts asks 80 stamps a quart for Guards red

hmm i may have to look into that then my engine bay could use a repaint the paint is cracking and im getting a little bit of rust in areas.

depending on how far you want to go there are a number of products that will give you the look you desire in a number of different price ranges. I went with all the spendy ****, but the results speak for themselves.

yeah that looks really good. I'd rather spend a lot of money on the good stuff then get the cheap stuff and have to do it all over again another time. and now i got this thread all https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683621.gif .

i want a engine that runs so i can sell the damn GXL and buy a turbo II. it wont be driven at all by me once the used engine is in so if anyone has a good one let me know. i just dont feel like spending 2000 grand on a rebuilt engine , i owe 2600 on the GXL and i cant get near that much with a blown engine. all 3 apex seals on the rear rotor are gone, so i would need the rebuild kit, new rotor housing, and i would still have to figure out why the apex seals went to begin with because the car has been pretty much granny driven. its just not worth it since i owe so much on it still. and it would require a lot more money to make it even remotely able to compete with a Turbo II. i already know where a mint condition blue Turbo II is sitting for 550 bucks with a recently rebuilt tranny, all it needs is a little j-spec engine inside and its good to go https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif
