Well, since late summer I have been slammed with work, then laid off (stupid mergers), and then my landlord didnt pay HIS mortgage w/ my rent money, so I had to move - luckily I just moved one house over, but still... ANYWAY, long story short... I start my new job this monday, I've cleaned up the garage after we worked on my roomates 3000GT for the last two months (big brakes, bushings, coilovers, misc wiring gremlins, etc... for those who cared)... and FINALLY I will be working on MY FC again...

I left off after getting the car's engine bay stripped down and prepped, then sprayed innocent blue mica w/ some extra clear.. fixed some small bangs from previous driving that resulted in minor damage and getting the interior back out for the roll cage.

While waiting on the rest of my suspension to arrive (misc stock stuff too).. I have begun measuring for everything else and finishing building my 12a engine for the "other rx7"..

My original plan was to run an electric setup with custom radiator, etc as that is what we ran on my buddy's drag 383 chevy p/u and it worked well... for a while. After a season of runs, the magnet inside the electric waterpump gave out, fell and then proceeded to LOCK the waterpump, ruining the previous built motor and then costing us more to rebuild. My friend nor I was happy with the electric pumps and his truck is going back to belt driven and I am going to go with the OE REW waterpump setup as well..

My new setup will consist of: Ron Davis Radiator, Swirl Tank, custom dual fans w/ shroud (also made at Ron Davis) and then some custom lines as the radiator is for the FC and I'm using an REW, so the location of the in/out dont line up.

Long story short, the Ron Davis is 28x19 overall.. my original radiator (the electric one) was stock sized only thicker and dual pass, so I wasn't concerned w/ fitment. HOWEVER, I had my engine bay painted already, so will the Ron Davis fit?? I made a template depicting the width.. height isnt too much conern as I've got some room to play...

Here are some quick pics of the car in its new home and the template. Luckily it WILL fit; with a little wiggle room to spare.

I plan to have quicker updates this go around since I'm back in the green...

PS.. sorry for the long story, its saturday night and my girls at work...

Holy Crap its Chris, lol... I didn't know you still surfed around this forum..

Actually, the engine bay is really dusty ..mostly due to all the burnt rubber from the bushings job and doing all the work on Justin's car.... no biggie, its cleared, so I'll just wipe it down and it'll be good as new...

Im also in the process of custom mounting a radiator. When I shopped around a bit, the nice radiators about made me sick when I saw the price tag. Afco makes a sweet dual pass 2.5" core rad in a few different sizes, 22,24,26,and 27.5 x 19. Its solid aluminum and only $225, or cheaper from an ebay vendor. I might be a bit biased since theyre built 30 miles from my house, but several guys have had good luck with them in FCs.
