With both wet and dry systems what is the best bang for your buck. Who here has one on and where did they get. :rice:

I don't think there is a single person using nitrous on this forum actually. universal kits usually run about $500.

repeat after me, wet kit, wet kit, wet kit. there is absolutely NO reason to use a dry nitrous kit on an rx7, they cost the same, and they are just a bit more work, and it is worth it not to decimate your motor. a kit will cost about 5-600 bucks, but, you don't really want to just get the kit, and slap it on, just like any other power adder, doing it half ass is the quickest way to a rebuild. you are probably going to want at least an upgraded fuel pump, don't really need to worry bout injectors, since the kit is adding its own extra fuel. and something to tune the car (Apex'i S-AFC) so that you are not running horribly rich the 99.5% of the time that you are not spraying, expect 900-1000 for a properly tuned running nitrous set up, and expect an easy 100 hp along with it, reliable. Scathcart from the other forum is running a 2 stage 200 + hp nitrous set up on his TII, I will see if he is willing to come here and share some info.

scathcart has a total of 280 shot on his car in a 160 and a 120 stage. i dont think he runs them together.

this is hard to do on a turbo due to the incredible boost creep.

if you want to run up 75shot 100 is stretching it you can go with a simple WOT & hobbs switch system.

could cost you around 500-600.

if you want to do a large hp increase like 200, with all of the safety mechanisms and other systems that need to be improved (stationary gears, fuel, oil)

you can easily hit $3K. i priced my nitrous setup and excluding the fuel and motor mods it is 1539. and that is leaving out the small stuff (AN fittings, SS tubing, etc)

so it depends on what you want

yeah, i knew scathcart was running a dual stage set up, though I thought he had it set up so he could run them together? and I have heard from him, and many others, that a dry shot is only going to be safe on a Rotary up to about 50 HP, and really, what is even the point at that low? it is the same price for wet, and dry kits, (at least the ones I have priced, NOS, and Zex) and much safer to use a wet kit. Muad: what are you running?

1Revvin7 11-15-2002 10:25 PM

nitrous is tempting, but i don't want to risk it, would be nice though maybe with a FMIC, boost would fo through the roof.

Turbo II 11-16-2002 12:48 AM

its cheating, jk. whatever tickles your pickle

Muad'Dib 11-16-2002 10:03 AM

not currently running it, but progressive 250 shot direct port injection

i know a good deal about nitrous set-ups. scathcart has them setup so that he can run them together, he has 2 separate 2 stage systems. im just not sure if he does run them together
