Price For An Al Hood?
#12
I spent 150 on mine... keep in mind that aluminum doesnt paint like steel does...The primer let go of the metal and the topcoat and clear are flaking off on mine.
That IS if you have to paint match it though.
100 is a steal

Some one did a shitty job on the prep then, alum paints just as well as steel, galvanized on the other hand is fucked!

Yeah, no original paint on my car is peeling. Only the spots where you can tell someone did touch-up (one door, rear bumper).
It was pouring rain yesterday and I was on the bike, so I was just ready to get home. I don't think that car's going anywhere, it was buried behind several other cars, so I'll check it out when I get a chance.

I bought a dinged up, slightly bent in front vert al hood from a junkyard a couple winters ago for $50. They gave me that price because they were slow and needed my $. It is worth about 30 pounds of weight savings up front compared to the ~55lb. steel hood. Saving weight up front is critical, because a slight rear wheel weight bias is pretty much the ideal weight distribution for a hardcore race car.
$100 for a used, in good condition FC aluminum hood is a good price and I would buy it if I were you.
