Last night I go to fill up the FC, and I take the gas cap off, and there is quite a bit of air pressure coming out. Know what this is causing?



Fuel lines, fuel pump? What would this be? I was pushing the car hard, doing 7000rpm shifts up to 3rd. Anyone got a clue?

 

its sorta normal, if you think its too much pressure in there, unplug the small line on the charcoal cannister and see if it gets better. once in a blue moon charcoal cannisters plug, and either pressurize or suck the gas tank shut

Same **** happens to my car regardless of how I drive it, pressures always spews out my cas tank when I fill it. I thought it was normal I figured the exaust would get so hot it would heat the gass tank and cause pressure like that. I dont know.

 

I had that problem for a little while. The previous owner capped off the line to the charcoal canister when he removed it. I uncapped it and ran a line into my fender and no more pressure

 

I would think it would be negative air pressure (sucking in)



The cap is airtight, and when you use the gas in the tank, the air in the tank has to expand...



if that made sense...as the fuel level goes down, airpressure rises.

 

Or i am smoking alot of crack

 

This might sound stupid but ... Same thing happens to my Gas Weed Eater lol So I guess it's normal

 

Makes sense to me. Once you close the (full) tank, you seal a certain volume of air in the top. As the fuel is used, the volume must expand, creating a negative pressure differential.

 

Lots of cars do that, I notice it all the time at work(I pump gas).
