Hi,

Just a quick one... I know that the optimum ratio is 128:1. Now, you guys use oz:gal. Can someone clarify that the correct ratio in metric would be 128ltr of fuel : 1ltr of premix?? Because you guys use it as 128oz:1gallon of fuel.

Many thanks

I have Pettit racing's premix. It says on the bottle to just run 4oz. to a tank full. If I am Autocrossing I mix 6oz. to a tankfull. They actually say you should run 100:1 when racing. I did that once and it fouled my plugs.

I was using Amsoil and just mixing 4oz to the tankfull with that too.

128 was only picked because it makes it easy to keep track of things, 1 ounce per gallon of gas. For a full tank, that's about 16 ounces, which is easy to carry in measured containers.

It seems that anywhere from about 110:1 to 135:1 is cool. You can do that conversion real easy like in metric

But, basically, per liter (1000 millileters), you want about 8ml. So what is a full tank in liters? Assuming you have a 16 gallon tank like the US specs, then it's 60.5 liters, so you should make premix bottles with about 484 ml. If you went 500ml, you would be getting a mix of 121:1, which is about right (maybe a bit high).

So, 480-500ml per tank.

What do you think an ounce per gallon is? 16 ounces per tank of gas is half a quart...

Why do you premix if your OMP is working?
