i would change the oil. look at everything, how are the brakes?, belts? hoses? tires? its ok if there is stuff wrong with the car, but you want to make sure its not somethign that will get you stuck

As long as you have good oil pressure and a working cooling system you can run all day.

I have driven for over 10 hours to 14 hours str8 specailly when me and vosko went to VA for MADS, there was a 4 hour stop and go traffic too. And we were boosting alot, specially on those long str8s at midnight 130+

Do not shut the car off when stopping for gas, I know you have a N/A

but you would be shocked at how hot the car gets when you shut it off!

Like Mike said- do the belts, hoses, and thermostat, coolant, and I would do them like a month or so before hand so you know there arent any issues.

hrmmm, dont shut it off? even when all the gas stations clearly say: YOU MUST SHUT OFF ENGINES. (not that im one to obey silli signs, like SPEEDLIMIT 55MPH)

and how exactly does one go about checkin belts, hoses, thermostats and coolants? .......

you'll be fine...

right after a i bought my n/a a few years ago. i did 35 separate 8 hour road trips in it... (to and from Va for college)

never a problem once...all i did over the years was change the oil and plugs :bigthumg:

I bought my car in Atlanta.. and then immediatly drove it to Minneapolis. ('90 TII)... it got shut off one time.. I think we were 5 hours into the trip or so we stopped at a gas station filled gas and shut the car off for like 45 minutes (we ate and diddled around).. car wasn't happy about restarting at all... so from 1pm - 3am the car ran and it ran fine..

I believe every other gas stop we threw a quart of 2 cycle in and checked the oil to make sure all was well. It was quite the fun trip.. tires when told had 80% left on them.. so they were showing belt for the whole drive on one tire and the rest weren't in the greatest of condition..

traveling in a Rx-7 is in no ways a caddy but it was surprisingly comfortable and having the rear hatch the way it is you can easily set a cooler back there and grab a soda as you need it.

well belts and hoses are easy. are the belts cracked? hoses swollen? oil soaked? is the coolant full and clean? are the brake pads worn out? brake fluids clean and full? any big oil leaks?
