well, i was considering changing the doors from my GXL and putting them into my T2 cause the windows dont work. the switches on both doors work fine- basing my opinion from external analysis, havent checked anything with like ohmeter or anything- but the windows just dont go up or down. the power mirrors work and the sunroof motor works. i cannot find the kick panel fuse cover in my car. if you guys have any idea what this might be caused by, let me know. im hoping its a fuse but, who knows. gimme some ideas..

ok, you need to pull the drivers side door panel, and take out the power window switch. carefully take the switch apart to see all the contacts inside, they'll probably be black from oxidation. Just take a screw driver and scrap them until they are shiny new, and your windows will probably work again.
Happened to me and that's what fixed it. fyi, the all power for windows run though that switch (even if the passenger side switch is fine, it still won't work because it never sees the signal in the first place due to the corroded drivers side switch) Hope that helps. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
also the fuses are to the back left of the clutch, if it'll have a fuse box looking cover on it. Use the diagraph on the lid to find your fuse, i think it's a 15 or 20 for the power windows.

I have to do this on my t2. Passenger window doesn't work. Good tips!

which is the fuse for the windows? i dont have the diagram from the kick panel anymore. l'd like to know which fuse on which row.

Speaking of this topic, my windows go up and down, but when they do, they do it kinda rough, when they hit the bottom they hit the bottom hard like a big clunk, do you think my windows are falling off the track or what? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

further inspection |

My drivers side window works great, but my passenger side won't move an inch. I checked the fuse, cleaned the rails, took apart the driver and pass. switch and cleaned the contacts, but it still wouldn't work.
I ordered a rebulit drivers side switch a few days ago, I'll tell ya if I have any luck, in the mean time, just clean the contacts and see if that works. |

did you try to jump the motor with 12volts to see if it even works?
maybe the motor is bad |
**** on this- anybody got any se doors they wanna sell? i wanna lose a few pounds n get some manual doors!
|
just pulled my door apart and tried all the **** i knew how to. i had to replace my fuse- it was blown as hell. i tried just jumpin a screwdriver across a couple of the wire ends with nothin but a few sparks and a blown fuse as a result, atleast i know its gettin power from somewhere. i just took my entire door off in the end, hopefully the doors on my GXL will help solve this one. jeezus, anybody wanna trade some doors from a base for these? it would solve soo many problems for me!

That would be the next step, I would have already tried it, but I don't know what wires to connect to what.
12volt the other, then switch it, depending on which one gets power it will either go up or down, simply switch the wires to go up or down |

there is only 2 wires going to the motor, you ground one and
12volt the other, then switch it, depending on which one gets power it will either go up or down, simply switch the wires to go up or down |
