No, you don't need the powersteering. I took mine out because I hated the feel of it. After a couple years without it, I'd never go back. After tons of autocrosses without it, it's not an issue anymore. Actually slides without it? Just as easy to control once you get used to it. Hell, even with powersteering it's next to impossible to control a slide if you don't know what you're doing. I haven't had any problems with the wheel messing my hands up. I just keep them clear of the wheel and let the caster straighten things out for me. So far no problems. But it is ultimitely up to personal preference.

Well. rest assured it rained last night. And of course i went for a little drift session

My and my cousin Mike. (E30 M3) <--- VERY NICE

We go behind this Publix. there's a huge parking lot that is fresh paved awww, so sweet

So i'm doing some drifting for the first time since having my power steering off. Man, it's sweet.

I did however manage to jam my thumb. The wheel fliped back around and my hand happend to be there. I'll get use to it eventially

Somewhat off topic. But man that 88' M3 sure as hell can Drift. And she's quick as hell too. Beats my car off the line. But has a real low top end. she only seems to top out at 110 or so. And i can climb to around 130

Any way, i'm satisfied with drifing without power steering. Im sure i'll get use to it eventually.

i have both, 2 89's with and without PS. Boy, now that i got the the PS running in the cosmo, i can't tell you how much i missed it!! hahah. Keep in mind, S5 PS is a big improvment over S4 PS. I like the simplicity of not having it, but i think its easier to drive with it.
