Ok, so im getting boost creep in 3rd and 4th to almost 15. I want to port my wg, and so far ive only been able to find write ups on s4 turbos. The s5 wg uses a 2 hole system instead of 1 hole, like the s4. My question is, can i make the holes bigger and take out the middle part to make 1 BIG hole? What would be the best to accomidate 13 psi in ALL gears.

This is why I left my manifold untouched...wasn't sure. I believe you can just make the two holes larger, but removing the middle section may not be a good idea. why don't you like 15psi though

A good manual boost controller can be bought or made for under $100 easily..this helps too!

I have a manual boost controller. But i boost to 5 psi in first, 7 psi in second, 13 in 3rd and 15 in 4th. I want 10psi in every gear, and not worry about boost creep like that.

What type of boost controller do you use? My TurboXS one worked fine on my buddy's T2..it kept a constant 9psi on a nonported WG S5 T2...

Another suggestion if the ported WG doesn't work is to use a pop-off valve and set the spring to 10psi....

the boost controller i made from home depot works decent. I might redo the lines for it.. might have a leak or something.. *shrug*

Right now im taking apart a s4 turbo out in my garage and im gonna port the wg in that one and try to lube it up and get it all working good. Then take it over to iluvmy88's house and see if he wants to put it on his car and test it Then i will do mine.

I was thinking a pop off valve would help too. but im trying to do this all for free.. lol.

it probably wouldnt hurt anything to just make it one big hole, the exhaust will still get to where it needs to go, it just might not flow quite as well. but it wont take much of an increase in diameter to get twice the flow rate so it probably isnt necessary

my wastegate is ported in my 91 T2...it was done by the previous owner...Although i bought it 2 years ago, I'm pretty sure he just enlarged both holes...but didn't go as far as making one big one...I also searched for tutorials for the S5 turbo just to see how it was done...but only found the pics of "the stock opening" and not a before/after ported one.

I have Bonez intake, 2.5 DP, MP, no cats, and a small RP catback...i never see more than 8psi in 4th gear at WOT...(honestly never tried 5th gear though)...

There is a guy on here with an 88 10th AE...and an S5 turbo w/ported wastegate...although I don't know his name, I believe his friend forum name is "Kahren"...maybe try pm'ing him and he can get you in touch with the guy...

Good luck man

8PSI??? Do you have it set this way...or will it just not go any higher? That's kind of low for your setup...

I have a 3" dp, to a 2.5 mp and stock catback. the catback is pretty restrictive, but it works for now.
