Youre not worried about something hitting that oil cooler and putting a hole in it?

I'm in Portland (or real close). The A/F Gauge I got is from Summit. It's not from AutoMeter. I think I have a quality o2 sensor (3 wire) so I hope it will work well. I've added gauges where the cig tray was and added idiot lights for low coolant, oil.

The Oil Cooler isn't protected, but should be okay. On the RX-7 about the only thing is was protected from was a 2x4. As I recall the grill work covering it wasn't much protection. The Oil Cooler mounts are welded to the frame on the front crossmember, so it's not going anywhere...

It's not going to be a daily driver, but a summer rig- 1/4 mile toy. Thus the 5.12 rear end with a locker (lock-rite).

This Friday! I left my laptop at work this weekend. But I did want to recheck all my wires before I start it. I did crank it over a few times this weekend. So it's close.

I just need to connect my factory tach up, which I will do after I start it. Everything else, including the backup lights, speedo are all hooked up. I filled the coolant and found I had a bad cap. I've taken care of that and it looks good now.

I hope setting up the Haltech is smooth. I've got a map from RX7.com. I added a mixture trim **** and have a A/F Meter in the dash so I think I should be able to fine tune it.

This has been a 18 month project (from the time I pulled the motor out of the Doner car). But many other things have gone on in my life that have slowed the project (moving and not having a garage being one of them).
Give us the results.

5.12 works out to 3018 RPM @ 60 MPH

With a top speed of 139 MPH @ 7000 RPM

which is faster then I'd care to drive in this thing...

:wow: damn. where did u get that from? i want one bet that would shave some time off the 1/4. does anyone know how much that would do? the 5.12. So u have a custom drivetrain? could i get a drop in 5.12 for my 7?! i wouldn't need to go any faster than 139 anyway. lol unless ofcourse my 1/4 got so fast i would redline before the 1/4 was up.. jk lmfao

Yeah, it doesn't look like the most aerodynamic thing.

Ya there no way I will get this AeroTurd to go that fast, but it is light (less than 2200 lbs) so it should easily grab a 12 sec 1/4.

At least it looks that way on paper. Slap on some slicks and I might be able to get into the high 11's.

The running gear is all Mazda, Except the rear end is the Sidekick rear, I have been told the rear will handle the power, It looks pretty strong, but I haven't looked at the splines or gears.

I went through my wiring last night and everything looks in order. So this weekend it should be running.

I have heard of Sidekicks with V8s, but your truck is better.
