You may want to get a blown motor and rebuild it.

I was thinking of getting a j spec. I would like to do a street port on it, but then I'd have to rip the thing apart. Maybe go with the j spec, then when I can, pick another one up and rip it apart, port it, and make it look prettier than Vosko's. My vert is my only car, and so I need as little down time as possible. I'm also thinking of picking up a Haltec when I get the engine, simplify the whole swap a lot.

The Haltech should make it alot easier. I wouldn't just drop the motor in and run because those motors usually sit for a while. At the very least you should take the injectors out to have them cleaned, as well as re-do all of the vacuum lines.

Yeah, sounds like it would be smart to do that. What did you do for your vert? Is it a j spec? Did you do the whole swap yourself?

My motor was in another convertible I had until April 1999. That body wasn't too great so I built the car I have now. The motor came from a TII, and before I put it in my current car I had it rebuilt with a port and 3 mm apex seals.

Yeah, after UniqueTII and I get through with your car. I still have to buy some aluminum tape.
