I'm not quite yet complete. I've ordered my dual pulley for my alternator (so the alternator isn't on the motor yet). I need to connect the upper radiator hose and the heater hoses. Everything else is ready to go.
I've been so busy with work and the holidays I haven't had much wrenching time. This is really a LOW BUDGET project. I have less than $5K into it... Mainly $500 for the Suzuki Sidekick (Bad motor) + $1000 for the RX-7 donner car + $1500 for the Haltech + $500 to Summit racing for hoses, guages, odds and ends. $100 for the driveline. The tires I had from the Mazda (they are a little on the narrow side... but will work for now) (195/50-15's) new wheels and the body kit are kinda extras. PS. The RX-7 donner had been hit in the front left and the frame was bent. |
I bet that will haul ass. What does it weigh? Like 2,000 lbs.?

ya he's got NOS https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

I've thought about putting my TEC II on my 91 coupe because I have nothing else to do with it, but I wanted to know if it would be worth it. |
I was given a map from RX7.com where I bought my Haltech. I haven't seen too many people running a Haltech on a N/A motor. My inital idea was to use the factory Injection. I did remove it from the old car, but the harness was brittle in places and it would have taken me a long time to get it to a usable form. So I had 2 options, Carb it or Haltech. I love the looks of a sidedraft on a RX motor, but didn't want to loose the drivablity and power of the injection. So I went with the Haltech. It seems like a very proven product and the perfect match for the Mazda.

Where do I start? I am redoing a lot of the interior. Mariah concentrated on the engine compartment, and made the cockpit very utilitarian. I am moving all of the additional guages that were in the glove box area (I want my glove box back). 4 are going on the A pillar and the rest are going to be in a custom center surround. The stock radio has just been replaced with a Kenwood in-dash DVD player with 10 Disc changer and Navigation system. The on-board laptop will also be able to display the output from the WinTECII software onto the in-dash display. The newly recovered seats (with custom embroidery - I also had custom floor mats made) need to go in and a roll bar, and frame stiffeners need to be added. A second oil coller is also beeing added. It was amazing what happened when the spark plugs and spark plug wires were replaced. Then there is the final tuning of the WinTECII software. It's close!

I agree. That is the only car i have seen that has 1000's dumped into it, and under the hood is ALL GO, and no show. I kinda like that idea, i would do that but i don't have g's laying around.

The new(and yes, its filthy lookin...sorry, I'll make it better...I promise:)):

Without a doubt! I'll post some pictures in a month or so. I figure I'll be done in three to four weeks (I am waiting for a couple of parts so I may fall victim to the slow mail/UPS/Fedex xmas rush).

I removed my charcoal canister. I just put vacuum caps over all of the lines that used to go to it. |

So if you remove the charcoal canister how do you route the fumes back to the tank?
If you cap it off aren't you also creating a vacumm in your tank? Just curious... |

I noticed a difference in handling when I first got it. I have the engine torque brace, but I need to grind some things to make it fit. I've been meaning to do that...for 10 months. :0 |
I got the rb torgue brace and was looking to get what u got on now with it. the strut tower that coonect to the firewall, looks nice to.

http://www.mazdatrix.com/pictures/h7-2.jpg You can check out the details at http://www.mazdatrix.com/h7.htm . There's a guy making a similar brace at http://ca.geocities.com/farmz1ca/RX7_Strut_Bars.html . |
So if you removed your Charcoal Canister and capped the vent back to the tank do you get the big WhOOSH when you remove your gas cap?
With the vent capped it would seem you would have a huge vacumm in your tank and actually reduce your fuel pump flow? I haven't connected the charcoal canister for my project vehicle yet but I didn't see any other way to do it. |
das a beeeg supercharger meng. hehe damn, ehh how much did that kit cost you, and how much u boosting??? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Then I painted them with 2 coats of gray primer. Then I used 2 coats of flat black. I used the spray cans that Pep Boys sells. I believe the brand was Plasti-kote. |
