I'm not quite yet complete. I've ordered my dual pulley for my alternator (so the alternator isn't on the motor yet). I need to connect the upper radiator hose and the heater hoses. Everything else is ready to go.
I've been so busy with work and the holidays I haven't had much wrenching time. This is really a LOW BUDGET project. I have less than $5K into it... Mainly $500 for the Suzuki Sidekick (Bad motor) + $1000 for the RX-7 donner car + $1500 for the Haltech + $500 to Summit racing for hoses, guages, odds and ends. $100 for the driveline. The tires I had from the Mazda (they are a little on the narrow side... but will work for now) (195/50-15's) new wheels and the body kit are kinda extras. PS. The RX-7 donner had been hit in the front left and the frame was bent. |
I bet that will haul ass. What does it weigh? Like 2,000 lbs.?

I've thought about putting my TEC II on my 91 coupe because I have nothing else to do with it, but I wanted to know if it would be worth it. |
I was given a map from RX7.com where I bought my Haltech. I haven't seen too many people running a Haltech on a N/A motor. My inital idea was to use the factory Injection. I did remove it from the old car, but the harness was brittle in places and it would have taken me a long time to get it to a usable form. So I had 2 options, Carb it or Haltech. I love the looks of a sidedraft on a RX motor, but didn't want to loose the drivablity and power of the injection. So I went with the Haltech. It seems like a very proven product and the perfect match for the Mazda.
