yup...I couldn't agree more....All problems solved and life is alot simpler.. It takes a bit of time to get a stand alone dialed in, but I love its simplicity

if in the futer i was to replace the pump mazdatrix whants 1,300 dallors for one,

so you see my concern with hurting it,
First off, I dont know what the hell youre saying. Learn to spell and how to properly use words.

Second off, Im telling you how to fix it. Just get an S5 OMP and plug it into the harness and then tie it away underneat a bumper or something. If you dont have an S5 OMP, I can sell you mine that I pulled when I installed the Haltech. [/quote]

he was saying he doesnt want to run the pump without it pumping anything for fear of breaking it that way and if in the future he wants to use it mazdatrix wants $1,300 for a new one.

it really wasnt that difficult to interpret.

You should just run a mechanical OMP pump w/ a different front cover...thats your best option.... unless, you get a stand alone ecu...don't bother plug'n in that other BS..

Stand alone ecu: pain in the ***? pain in the *** is the stock Mazda ecu junk that will eventually fail...been there. Now granted, stand alones aren't for everyone, but when I got mine i was lost and it took some time to get it right, but in my opinion its way less complicated. of course its just one mans opinion

I had s5 OMP problems before I got smart...stupid code 27/limp home mode BS... The way I understand that s5 OMP's when bad, will short out the N-370 ecu's...per Chris Ott @ RP, TX...and thats what happened to me. and in the garbage can it went.

anyway....

WHOOOAAAAA.....starting to sound like the other forum

Just ask him to restat the problem.

Ok, so you have a S5 ecu with a S4 front cover? S5 ECU needs to see that S5 MOP to not give you a code and criple the car.

Find out how to trick it. Maybe you can take out the electric internals of your pump. And put that i a smaller project box. That way you do not need to have the whole pump in there.

Okay, so excuse me for venting.

It's just when people revel in their own ignorance, well it gets me riled up.

Now what's this about the "other forum?" What other forum?

I don't know the specifics and I can't find the webpage right now but there is a resistor you can use looping it back from one connector to another to fool the computer into thinking it has an oil metering pump. I don't know what rating of resistor and I don't know which two connectors on the harness. I will keep looking and post it if I can find it again.
Its a complex circuit that checks itself. Put simply, unless youre an electrical engineer, its impossible. You have to have the OMP present, and the sensor must give the proper reading relative to the position of the stepper motor. If not, you get an error code, and limp home mode. Get an OMP, plug it in, and put it somewhere.

when we revel in our OWN ignorance?

keep track of who posts what.

i interpretted what someone else wrote, how he wrote it was not my ignorance, the inability to comprehend was the ignorance of someone else.

enjoy.

yeah, the resitance the ecu expaects to see changes with rpm and load, so 1 resistor doesnt work
