Ok, So I Have A Friend
#1
Anyways, i have a friend who has an 89 T2 with a problem that it won't rev past 5k rpms. He's had a few people say it might be fuel injectors, well i dont think it is that but lets say hypothetically it was. Could this friend of mine clean the injectors himself or do you have to send them off to RC engineering. Also can you buy o-rings for them at any hardware store or do you have to special order them?

I personally wouldn't waste my time trying to clean them just send them off to RC it's quick and easy and you won't have to tear it back down to redue the injectors. The seals are cheap, Mazda dealership, mazdatrix...

Sending to RC may be 'quick and easy', but how much would that cost? I think it would be quicker to DIY, you don't have to wait what is probably like 2 weeks for them to get to the place, have them cleaned, then sent back? Unless we have one local, I don't know about that. How long can it take to clean them with the right solution and little cleaning brush? 10 minutes? Only 2 injectors per rotor, ya? If you have to tear down to get to them, I would just do it yourself anyway.

cleaning it yourself is tricky tho, without knowing it you could get a tiny particle stuck in the nijector that would destroy the stream/fan pattern of the injector and inhibit it more then it possibly is.
but hey, to each their own.

You can expect it to take 2-3 days to send them out and get them back, price will be around $135 for all four injectors including shipping. Ship them out overnight, have them cleaned which is usually a day and overnight back to you... simple and easy and you will never have to worry about it again; plus you won't run the risk of blowing an engine from it leaning out.

On top of everything that has been said, For $135 you also get them balanced, and a printout of the injectors flow rates and a new set of filters installed, I don't know too many people with an injector flow bench in their homes. Your best bet is to have RC do it.

135?!
Damnit, thats so expensive. I might as well just go buy some brand new 720s.
