Ok.. I Think I Have A Solution

aight guys. check this out. bout few months ago.. comin outa stop sign. i hit bout 10mph. all of a sudden. BAM clunk clucnk tink tink tink.. etc. [a block away from my house by the way lucky eh?] but anyway. i get it in front my house. the car is NOT in gear. theres a rythmic tink tink tink ya kno. i press the clutch pedal in the tink fades away..k. so i automatically thought throwout bearing... right? i hope so. well yester and today. i dropped my trans. pain in the *** by the way without takin the exhaust. kudos for me i took some pics of im jus hopin for some opinions or solutions.. any is appreciated

well i can't tell by the pics, but you've got it backwards. The only time the throw-out bearing is in play in a properly adjusted setup is when the clutch pedal is DEPRESSED. If you are getting noise when the pedal is out and not in, odds are you should be looking at the pilot bearing, not the throwout bearing, now that you have it all apart you might as well replace them both.

yea i kno the pics suck .. i took em with my phone..but thats besides the point.. but thanks phins ill look at that 2morrow nad update on whats goin, i appreciate it

jus to reasure... the tick that i was hearing. would it be the pilot bearing/inputshaft bearing/throwout bearing one of them.. the tick is only heard when the cltuch pedal is not pressed. when it is pressed the tick slowly fades away...i go in and out of easily.. no lock up or nothing.. jus that tick.. and when i move like 10ft per say. the tick will occur..witht he occasional TINK!!!! [Loud]...i havent got nething else done since friday cause its been rainin..if u request any pics to help me out. ill eb glad to take them... thanks guys

Even though the pics are fuzzy it looks like the input shaft has been chewed to ****, did the pilot bearing come out attached to the shaft?

grooves in the teeth... sorry bout the pic quality.. its my cell phone.. [i860] supposed to be a good camera..but ohwell.

to fix the reply.. NO grooves or scars in the teeth of the inputshaft..



i ono wut happend to the rest of what i said.. but it appears to be ok.
