not really. its just grease totally covering those donut shaped things. you cant really see the donut things. but i am guessing that they are magnets. i put a screwdriver on one but it didnt attract it.

take the crap out. It's just metal filings that would otherwise be circulating in the fluid, the magnets caught them for you, now you can easily clean them out.



The auto trans has a number of wear componenets, that stuff is the result.



If the trans worked before you did this I wouldnt worry, but one has to ask why the pan is being removed in the first place?



Sometimes when you have a old auto trans that is worn but works changing the fluid will just make it fail sooner.

just clean them and the pan itself off and leave them be, they are meant to be there

they sit anywhere you put them. I just did the fluid in my Jeep and my Lexus tonight,

I didnt have any metal shavings but I also change my tranny fluid once a year, they

both have magnets, and drain plugs which makes life super easy.



I am with Pengaru with the not changing really old tranny fluid, sometimes you open a

pandoras box.
