Im bored today and thought after I lift I might as well go out and change the oil it's due for a change in 1k or more but...oh well im changing oil. What oil & filter do you guys use?Ive been using Castrol GTX 20W/50 with a FRAM Tough Guard or Mazda OE oil filter.

Fram is garbage, I always buy Mazda OEM filters..



But last time this discussion came up, Mazda's OEM filters were compared to Fram, which made me think about buying different filters... ?

I got the FRAM Tough Gaurd...I still have the receipt!



Other filters besides Mazda OEM & FRAM?Which other ones?

fram is **** dont buy another one. If you have enough miles on it just get a new mazda one.

im just curious how everyone is basing that Fram is ****?



Its like the number 1 filter out, is everyone with a Fram wrong

or is everyone else spreading internet advice?

im doing some searching myself, apparantly there is a web page

where some guy ripped open all these different filters, and he

didnt have nice things to say about frams, lol



I never buy them anyhow, I always used Purolater filters in my DD

and OEM mazda filters in my RX7 and mazda 6

According to that review, the fram X2 is good but that's like $10. You can get a K&N for that price. I think the old school orange Frams have a following over the years that just doesnt go away.. brand loyalty.
