kind of a noobie question. i got a 88 se and there is oil in the spark plugs. what seal would be broken? the car has "around" 177k on it.

also last month we replaced my pressure plate and clutch because it was slipping at third gear. so we did go ahead and do that, plus i bought a rear main seal because the other one was shot. I cleaned the back of the motor with brake cleaner and after five minutes i noticed some oil seeping out through one of the bolts that go around the motor ( im assuming those are the bolts that hold the motor from the front to the back.). the clutch is still slipping even if the rear main seal was replaced. someone told me that there are small rubber seals around the long bolts and i need to replace them.

can anyone shed some light on whats going on. thanks again nopiston people

Sounds like an Oil control ring is out.

There are O ring type seals that go on the Tension bolts.

Rear oil seal for the flywheel problem.

Plugs have oil is probably oil control rings worn out, rebuilding only possible way to fix. Or OMP putting out too much oil. As long as the car starts fine and you keep with the oil dont worry about it till it stops working. Don't touch the tension bolts.

The tension bolt seals can be replaced,(in order one at a time) but with that many mile it is going to need a overhaul soon anyway.

well people.. i reall saw it coming anyway. i guess the engine needs a rebuild. My car is in my friends place right now. ( he has been using it because he didnt have a car so i was nice enough to let him borrow mine while im using my integra. but anyway. yeah we tried to start that bitch. man i was really pissed. it just keeps on turning and turning and turning.. it wont even start. we checked my oil and filled it up to the low mark, check the battery and it was ok, then checked the gas. it is halfway filled. then we took out the spark plugs and guess what. all four are soakd with oil. so i sanded it a little bit then soaked it in gas and put it back in there. probably by this time it is flooded so it still didnt start. So how do i unflood the engine again?

yes people the slow POS 13b 6 port needs an overhaul. cant deal with that thing anymore so im gonna put it out of its misery temporarily till i get money to get it built with new seals. anyone around florida wanna help? lolz thanks again people.
