I've heard a lot of different things about motor oil and filters, and I am having a hard time deciding what brand to use.

Which brand of oil filter should I use??

Which brand and which viscosity of oil should I use??

Thanks for the help.

I run the K&N's in all my vehicle's. The Napa line is actually a very good filter and they are priced quite well. Stay away from the Fram line and the Penzoil oil filters, they are pretty junk.

I always use the blue mazda OEM filters

It's wierd too because everyone comments me when they say "Hey you have a mazda filter. Cool."

Ummm Yeah!!!

I read a while ago the OEM filters were better than the run of the mill junk up here (fram, never heard penzoils were crappy too?).. So.. I dunno..

i blame my fram for my blown motor. they have voodoo curses on them. do NOT purchase a fram. other than that i use 20w-50 castrol nonsythetic and possibly this summer straight 50w castrol nosythetic.

I always use Castrol 20w50 with the Mazda OEM filter.. Always always always.. And I change oil every 3000 KMs.. Not sure how many miles?

I don't plan on changing my routine even though my MOP will be eliminated too.
