Ok so I had prepped a set of spare intake manifolds with new gaskets and polished up, mind you my car was running fine before this. I took off the old manifolds all the way to the block. Replaced all the brittel vack lines with new ones, oil injectors and all put a little RTV around the injectors to make sure there was a nice seal, made sure every thing was well connected. went to turn and it flodded i was like OK

so i begun the unflooding process ... . . . . after i had put the fuse back in started it up threw a huge fireball (Exhaust manifold off) and died then I turned it back on ideled like at 500 RPM shaking and went under the hood to see and it was throwing constant bursts of fire so i said ok time to turn off. After i turned it off it would not start again, I did the atf trick nothing , It would flood i would un flood flood again back and fourth till the starter fried. thats when I gave up. I also reseted the ecu like some guy said to do dissconnect bat+ hold brakes for 30 sec and nothing.

My car would turn on fine and run perfect before this what could have gone wronge? Jeez

Let me ask one more question if I where to put an exhaust gastet on backwards like the side that has thal little hole to the side that dosent have a hole have any adverse effect?

Its fun

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak.

it just floods i crank it with EGI/Fuse off and I can smell and see the gas coming out of the exhaust. arter I unflood where i cant see no more gas mist i put the fuse on and the second I crank it floods again. cant be low compression cause the motor was running perfect before!

my manifolds where really dirty like super dirty. i could pass my finger down the intake runner in the lim and come out with my finger black. I cleaned the intake ports as much as I could Lubed up the 6PI sleevs and put the LIM back on with a new gasket. I made the gasket my self using a roll of gasket material and an xacto knife. I made all the gaskets Penelum to UIM, UIM to LIM, LIM to Engine, and used silicone gasket maker as a dressing. I dont think there is a leak between the manifolds and the block at least.

What you guys think?

vaccum leak, or maybe a fuel leak. if you don't smell gas, then you forgot to plug something in or didn't tighten down a bolt or two.

Yea, this may sound stupid but I do it almost every time I take a manifold off. The wires coming off the AFM, well I always forget to plug those back in. Again, its just a thought.
