Not Getting Fuel...help!

Yesterday my car worked beautifully. Today, I tried to start the car and didn't even hear it puttering to tell you there's any fuel in the lines. And I was right. Even when I primer it by connecting that little plug on the wiring harness, no fuel will go through the lines at all. I even went so far as to take out the fuel pump itself and hooked up the neg and pos to a battery charger and it buzzed as fuel shot out of it. So I put it back in, by grounding the negative to the metal that the fuel pump is zip-tied to, and the positive is screwed down to the original location. So wtf! I hook up the primer, and turn the key to ON and no fuel comes through the lines, I know because I put a rubber hose on the nipple itself from the fuel pump and nothing comes out! WTF

my third gen had a similar problem. turns out there was a short in the L shaped connector on the top of the mounting plate. just spliced into 2 of the 4 wires coming from the harness, ran them to the pump, and had fuel again.

Yah, I would do some multimeter testing for where the power stops.

did you check your fuel filter? they have a tendancy to clog. If the pump is working then take the fuel line off the fuel filter, hook up a seperate hose to the top of the filter, run the other end into something likea beer bottle so you can see into it, then crank it over a couple times. If you got no fuel then I'd just go ahead and replace the filter. If that doesn't work you know you have a electrical problem





whoops sorry, didnt see that you already tried this, do what he said and pull out the multimeter and get some readings.

Yeah it's really gay! I have taken the pump itself out twice now, hooked it up to a battery, and fuel will shoot right out. And the strange part is, I hooked everything up JUST AS IT WAS, and it ran the whole day before. Now, no fuel comes out from there at all. Rather than looking at the fuel line under the hood, I'm talkin about the lines that come from the fuel pump itself on top of the gas tank in the trunk. Nothing comes out. I even hook up the primer under the hook, turn the key to ON, and nothing happens. My brother thinks the grounding on the negative from the fuel pump isn't good enough, and the positive too probably...

Defintely check the power with a multimeter and check the grounds using the continuity feature.

Yeah, we took out the EGI relay today, and we hooked the 1 plug up to a battery and it goes "TICK", but there's no continuity coming from the other plug. Could that be the problem?

You could try this I am not sure its your problem. There is a fuse in your fuse box under the bash its a 15 amp fuse and its call an engine fuse. It breaks the fuel pump and Inginition. Try changine that fuse or at least checking to see if its blown. I have had it blow for no reason and it shuts the car down.

Also there is a fuel pump relay down next to the passenger headlight, it is on a silver panel, with a resistor block, The key powers one side of the relay, and the ECU the other side. If your getting a ecu signal and a key signal power is sent to the fuel pump. Sounds to me like you are not getting any power through the relay. Now, I have a write up that will acctually help you out if you want to try it. but it will require a little more digging on your part. If you have a 12v signal to the pumps it will work, if not you will need to do a little more wiring and add a 12v ignition powered wire to the setup and there will be a performance gain through the pump.

See if this will work for you, I know the writeup says for twin pumps, but using one relay you can wire a single pump the same way.
