New Timken fr wheel bearing did not fit

The inner wheel bearing I bought to replace my old one didn't fit on the spindle. It's the Timken Set11 (outer bearing per autozone) that doesn't slide to the main surface of the spindle.
Is it the wrong part or am I doing something wrong? Does the bearing not actually slide all the way up on the spindle?

Did the bearing break while driving? It could of cause the spindle to over heat and grow. I never got around to install the timken bearing.

Nope, this was maintenance brought on by a loud wheel noise on the right- no breaking, though there were some ball scores in the right race, and pitting marks in the left race. (The right one was the one that was noticeably harder to turn). The new ones don't fit on either side - the old ones fit on both sides. The outer diameter and races seem to fit right though.
The actual outer bearings fit where they are supposed to on the spindle.

I think I remember reading somewhere, where the out was accutally he inner, and the inner actually the outer. The suppliers books seemed to be screw up at the parts stores.

are they really way off, or do they slide part way and hang up? you could always try the hot/cold bearing assmbly trick if they are close. hit the spindle with a Co2 fire extinguisher and slide the bearing (heated to 250 or so in a warm oven) over it. If they are close, the extra expansion/contraction will let the bearing slide home. if it doesnt go all the way, its a mother to get them back off!
