Well, roadkill669 and i were SUPPOSED to be installing a new clutch on his car yesterday, but certain persons were not around for a UPS dropoff so the clutch is delayed a day.

In light of this, we decided to do some smaller things. His TID was cracked and brittle, so a new one had to be made, then we figured a nice cooler air box should go around the filter, and also that the FP guage should be relocated to inside the car...here are some pics of the work...

new box from the front...

Here's a shot from the top. It was very tight fit, and roadkill669 decided he wanted to put the MAF in to box too...making a design a lil more difficult, lol(bastard!). Anyways..with the MAF in there, it give more metal to absorb the heat and keep it away from the filter. Thank god we had a shorty filter...

The box is not a flimsy aluminum box. The bottom is a two layer with fiberglass insulation between them. The entire box is bolted together and can be completely dissassembled. Some electric tape was used to smooth some edges. The sides are also a two layer constructed aluminum with insulation between them. No bent corners on the inside to provide a nice smooth surface for air to rush to the filter...

a hold was cut in the side for the MAF plug as well...this box stays COLD!

here's a rear shot..u can also see the fully insulated TID...

Now for the gauges...

Don't know if you all saw roadkill's post on his fuel pressure gauge, but it WAS located up front near the headlights...well, it is now moved to the interior below the logicon along w/ his two other temp guages.

The plate is good thick aluminum sprayed w/ BMW paint..don't remember color, but it looks good.

The top smaller peice was put in so he'll have room for his turbo timer when he gets it...

Well, thats it for this post, I think he'll get some up when his clutch arrives. We're hoping to be at MIR in later November for the car's last race of the season...and I MAY have my car there too!
