Hey Fellas,

I just bought an 87 FC yesterday that I figured I would build it to be a car that I have always admired. It is standard with no mods or turbo so I am starting from scratch. I started loving these cars when I was 17 and my friend in his 85 Iroc-z got blown away by an 83 RX-7 with little modifications. So now at 34 I want to be that car leaving dust trails. The only problem is I've never done any type of performance upgrades on any type of car. I've worked on cars and trucks most of my life but don't know a thing on upgrading. The question is, where do I start? Are there simple mods I can make to get started? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Start with a good tune up. Read the FAQ's, tons of information there for first timers as yourself.

Welcome to the forums.

Woo, welcome to the forums!

Intake, exhaust, removal of emissions (if state legal), suspension, fuel system, yadda yadda. rotaryresurrection.com can give a pretty great deal of advice for upgrades and how-to's. Mazdatrix.com does also in their FAQ's section.

Good luck and happy rotating
