new to me anyways.... $250, its been parked since 97. we put a battery and some used plugs in it, and it fired right up....
its an original owner car, so i have the window sticker, build sheet, and the punch cards. its an 87 gxl, with abs, sticker is $20,078 |
its all nice and cob webby (i just made it a word) but looks pretty nice i bet the mileage is low most likely very dirty unless it was washed before sold hmm 20k and you got it for 250 nice deal
|
yeah its got 69,000 miles on it, lowest mile FC ive had, even my first one in 94, had 75k....
|
damn good if nothing goes seriously wrong

Don't they offer courses in driveway feng shui? If the cars parked in the driveway joined together to form a cohesive and harmonious arrangement, I suspect it would assuage the fear and loathing in your neighbors, not to mention the well-paid public servants whose aesthetic sensibilities you have so heinously offended.

it was! phase 1 complete, i pressure washed the crap out of it, it was like the car was new orleans, i was katrina, lots of confused now homeless spiders.... phase 2 is the pressure wash with soap phase, it'll look new underneath, paint is shite though. its even got some sort of growth on the OUTSIDE of the glass... phase 3 involves working brakes, fluid comes out of the master almost as fast as you put it in. phase 4 is the custom 5x100 to 5x114 adaptor to get my volks to fit phase 5 is just to drive i think, although its got weird problems like the throttle sticking, coolant temp gauge doesnt work etc |
phase 5 might take some time
|
At least it started right up!

yeah, i keep having to remind myself not to drive it, as there are no brakes...... i did take it up the street and the tires are SQUARE too, its like BANG BANG BANG BANG.... |
that had to be fun square tires plus no brakes hmmm what can you do
|
small update; so there is water on the floor behind the drivers seat, and judging by the broken b-pillar trim on that side, id say someone f-ed it up at the dealership. i think its been like that for a while, the warning light cluster is all corroded, and so is the gauge cluster
|
Nice find! I'm up to four in various states. One of the last ones I got was like that got it fired up the same day.

gauges are fixed, rust doesnt pass electricity. had to make some washers to go between the pcb and the screw to the gauge...
next stop CPU |
fun times i bet
|
find anymore spiders?
|
any black widows?
|
i saw a couple living in the tire tread today
|
in the tread? wow
|
water got inside the cpu, yay... relay needed a little rehab
something is still not right though, charge and brake lights (brake light should be on) both are dimly on together, but i have 14v at the battery... |
I think you should gut the car. Cage it. Seem weld the chassis and take it ITS SCCA racing.
|
its tempting, i also have a cartech turbo manifold, so i could turbo it also.
but since we have now 2 87 gxl's in sapphire blue metallic with abs, it might be more fun just to have the same car as paul |
just as long as your grabbing the right keys to the right car lol

Just do a nice aggressive streetport. Put some marginal carpeting in there so it is a bit more cush. Then install a Tec3R. Ground Control Coilovers. 300 lbs and 250 lbs rear spring. Set of KYB AGX. FD calipers. Stock dash. Some front carpet. Buy a sheet of carbon fibre and use that as the inner door panel with a pull string for handle. Roll up windows. Some old school 16x8 + 27mm panasport rims. 245/45/16 tires all the way around. (not sure what SCCA rules are on wheel size and tire size). A nice 3" single can exhaust out of thin wall 304SS. Lexan rear glass, on stock hatch frame. Some heat insulating material on the driver side tranny tunnel, and foot well. Accusump ram. Decent set of gauges. Brace the subframe. Delin subframe mounts. DTSS toe eliminator bushings. New Inner rear tie rod links. Would be perfect. New paint in White. Silver wheels. |

so your saying your keys work with the other car? |

Most of them do. The tumblers are worn out on the locksets or sticky which doesn't allow them to spring back on most old FCs. So any key that can cause the ignition to turn/twist can start your car. |

yeah the other one is so bad that my bmw keys work in it. it is kinda neat to start the car and pull the key out |

Silver wheels. thats my 1st gen.... gutted with cage, camber plates coil overs, i think its 350/175. its got a 12a PP, weber, 3" exhaust. ive got the lexan, but its not on the car. ive got 15x7 meshies, but i want 15x8 rota RB's, 225-45-15 is the spec tire for our real race car, so 15's are the way to go, its getting ra1'a so the fc can stay stock.... actually the other FC has the full suspension and when we take it to the track and put the slicks on it, it cant break traction in any direction, well the abs does turn the tires octagonal.... |

haha i had a car like that i could even start with my thumb pressed up against it or if i didnt feel like that a penny |
well yesterday i pulled the brake master out, cleaned all the junk out of it, put it back together, it actually passes the leak test, so we put it back in, and bled it. with working brakes i was able to actually drive it!
it drives ok, f-ing slow though. got some fresh gas so now it needs a radiator cap (old one doesnt hold pressure), maybe a thermostat, the thermowax is plugged, i took off the hose and even with the engine running nothing comes out.... logicon is paralyzed on the left side, but AC works. |
