Default New to the Family

Hello everyone, I'm here because I am happy to say I'm in the final process of trading my 93 Cherokee for a 90 7Fc. My Cherokee has a cracked head or gasket, his Fc has need for a transmission. A straight enough trade for me as the exterior and interior are in relatively good shape and the engine is young (59,000). I've played with the idea of a small block swap but you can see which forum I joined lol. I want to start with a transmission rebuild or swap thaat will be top quality and last for many years of fairly aggressive daily driving. I may as well replace/upgrade the clutch while I'm at it if I learn that's what I should do. I've always wanted an Rx7, glad I can join the family.

This is a good forum for learning all there is to know about rotary engines. A lot different from piston engines. Check the classifieds section of this forum. There's probably some transmissions available for sale. If you're going to use the 7 as a DD, then Exedy Stage 1's are good clutches. The Stage 1's are a step up from OEM. I wouldn't go any firmer than that as pedal pressure to engage the clutch would become uncomfortable for a DD.
