I was thinking about putting a full exhaust, from the headers back on my 1987 FC GXL. I was wondering if this was an easy do it yourself task. Also, what are some of the best exhausts for a decent price? Any help is appreciated
Thanks |
Well, if you have a jack and jack stands, a basic set of tools, and a shop close to get some more wrenches:) than you can do it. Exhaust isn't too tough but up at the header it can be a pain. Wait... Do you mean a cat-back or everything from the engine back? A cat-back is simple if it isn't rusted too much.
As for good companies, just NOT Pace Setter! Mazdatrix, Corksport, Rx7.com, etc.. |
Get the RacingBeat system... A header is LOUD!

I mean everything from the engine back.

Everything from the engine back can be a pain, as in changing the headers, but headers are one of the best mods for an NA. Although, as Revvin man said, they will be loud:) A full exhaust will help a lot though!

not that hard... just spray all the bolts and let them sit for a few hours (maybe even overnight) before you start
|
If you don't want it too loud, get the RB pipe and presilencer rather than header and presilencer... similar gains and easier to install also.

ok first off how hard is is to take that pre-cat off and if i don't run that pre-cat, can i still pass emisions... and does the down pipe go on before the turbo manifold or does it go where the pre-cat goes.. . thank you
