here it is, the throw out bearing has hair on it? and it looks like the tranny needs a new front oil seal as well as the back?

phinsup 09-09-2002 11:20 AM

Awww, come on, you spray a litte PB Blaster on them, wait 10 minutes and hit it with the air ratchet, they ain't bad at all.

sleeperRX7 09-09-2002 11:21 AM

so the clutch is kinda made out of a fiber material? the exhaust bolts were easy cause ive had it off about 5 times now, but yeah the first time i tried to take them off they didnt wanna, but the good old air compressor fixed that problem. :bigok:

Turbo II 09-09-2002 11:24 AM

i didnt spray those bolts for ****. i just took em off with a little grease

Geoffman72 09-09-2002 12:30 PM

You should definitely replace the front and rear seals if they never have been as well as the T/O bearing, pilot bearing, and pilot bearing seal.

Especially if one has been trying to grow some foliage https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

What kind of clutch are you going to get?

sleeperRX7 09-09-2002 09:55 PM

just a oem one from autozone, its only 145 bucks and im jobless at the moment, i could order a stage 2 from clutch masters but i gotta do the reasonable thing right now, carpayment, insurance, rent, various other clutch components, i ordered the front and rear oil seals from mazdatrix as well as the pilot bearing and seal, upper and lower shift rod bushings(mine were gone!)and then pressure plate, clutch disk, throwout bearing, i should be good, i spent 45 bucks on 5 quarts of AMSOIL for my tranny, its the best, does anyone know if the inside of the bellhousing normally has all that crud in it? is that because the inner seal is bad? thanks for the help, later

89 Rag 09-09-2002 10:18 PM

Its too bad you dont have the loot to do a rebuild on the trans while its out. I had mine done @ Pineapple, after about 98,000k all the innards are really wore out. New seals should keep the grease at a minimum for a while.

1000 bucks is a ton of loot for a simple rebuild.

sleeperRX7 09-09-2002 10:41 PM

Turbo II 09-09-2002 10:52 PM

Geoffman72 09-09-2002 10:58 PM

I think thats off of 3rotor.com

SoniX 09-10-2002 05:54 AM

heh, those exhuast bolts weren't that hard, set a socket on them, climb out from under the car, and about ten good kicks, and viola, problem solved, I only sheared off one bolt, and stripped another, but they were the ones I was replacing anyway, (btw, good god those cats are heavy, glad they are gone)

banzaitoyota 09-10-2002 06:28 AM

My tranny from pineaplle was 950. But I had the miata gearset installed.

I can get the rebuild kit for an NA for 300

sleeperRX7 09-10-2002 02:57 PM

What's the rebuild kit include though, gears and everything? I know pineapple just specs the gears and replaces the synchros and bearings.

sleeperRX7 09-16-2002 11:52 PM

its finally in! god damn i had a shitty time with it, get this, the clutch kit i ordered from autozone(pressure pate, clutch disk, throw out bearing)did not fit, everything was fine except for the pressure plate, the guide pins on it would not line up with the flywheel!!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER ACLUTCH KIT FROM AUTOZONE, THEY ******* SUCK GO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE OEM CLUTCH!!!!!, YOULL BE SORRY, anyways the mazda one is a lot nicer,a lil more $$$$ though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png its runs sweet now, no more slipping <_< piece and thanks for the help on many topics i posted. :bigok:
