i hate using that contraption but it does make working under the car a little easyer. the body is being stripped of all the coatings as i write this. i should have it back by the weekend to start bending and welding the cage and rest of the chassis up. only will be able to tac weld untill the scca inspector comes to issue the log book.

I guess I have to ask the dumb question and say, why not a tube frame car?

well thats not a dumb question at all. this is an E Production class car and rules will not allow me to tube the car. class has weight liomits and is based off the stock uni body platform ans suspentions points cannot be changed from there locations. if this was a GT3 or GT2 build i coulsd build a full tube chassis with all fiberglass or carbonfiber body and be lighter then what we need to be in EP. we are also limited to stock brakes in the EP hoever we can use 2 piece rotors as long as there the stock diamiter and width as OEM. and pads are unlimited. just a tip to any racers out there, stock 4 pot calipers and rotors with HAWK DTC 30 pads in front and HAWK Blacks in back is a killer brake set up with useing non slotted or drilled rotors. Ower old car was the very first second gen rx7 to ever get the DTC30 pads, we got them sent to us before anyone to do some data gathering vers the Hawk blues with ower Traqmate data system. By the way we are a Traqmate data systems and Chase cam dealer and installer , so i your in the market for a system shoot me an email. randy

That makes sense then, We did SP and GT-1 with the Camaro in the late 80's and early 90's
