ive got a 89 rx-7, 13B rotary in it. it started makin a loud rattlin noise and when i put it under/around 1 grand in the RPM's, it dies on me. Takes forever to start up. Whats wrong? any thoughts/ideas greatly appreciated.

 

The rattling noise could be main things, usually exhaust orientated. Sounds like u have a vacuum leak for the engine dying deal. Why is the car doing this? What made this start happeing? Did u do anything to it?

 

rattling means its most likely the exhaust... when did it start? Did it happen while you were driving or did it just startup that way one day?

 

compression test!!!
